3. No shit!
I've been out of work for two months. There is nothing out there. I don't even know where to look anymore.

Everyone told me, "No we aren't hiring, but you can apply online."
That doesn't help :(

7. Great idea. Those who have dogs, hire the others to walk and wash your dogs.

Those who have yards, hire the others to keep up your yard.

Those who have neither, hire the others to wash your car/do your housework.

I'd rather take a beating than job hunt. Well, maybe not really.

5. Yes.
I've been looking for over a year. If they're hiring, they aren't hiring the likes of you and me. I hope that changes.

6. I have annoying advice
After 9-11, Mrs. OBD was laid off. She filed for unemployment, and then went to a temp agency, which fairly quickly led to a job.

That's not the advice.

To this day, she kicks herself for being so quick to grab the first job that came along. There were a bunch of retraining programs where she could have taken classes at the local Community College courtesy of the State. I am well aware that not working is a huge financial problem, but if you can't work anyway, and you can get some free ob training out of the deal, I say go for it.

8. I tried that back in 2002 when I was laid off
TX Workforce(what a joke) made me dance through the hoops for 4 months trying to find a job to prove there weren't any before they admitted I qualified for retraining. 3 weeks before my unemployment ran out, the bastards notified me that the retraining budget was out of money and I would have to wait until the next fiscal year. I used many, many bad words in my response.

11. Ballad of Wall Street:
Nobody's hiring,
Everybody's firing.
Stocks are down,
Debts are up,
Please put a penny in the old man's cup.

Will work for food,
Will work in the nude,
Or fully clothed,
If that's your desire.
My body and soul are yours to hire.

My job is gone,
I'll mow your lawn.
I'll clean your toilets,
Or watch the kid.
I'll do whatever I am bid.

See me now, and give me pity.
It's chaos here in bankrupt city.
The lights are out,
There is no food.
Just name it, and I'll do it, dude.

:-(
