It's Cutaway. And it starts with Stephen Baldwin going to a sky-diving school in Miami. Well, first of all, there are no sky-diving schools in Miami. They are all south in Homestead. I have been sky-diving in Homestead. Secondly, the movie has him making a first jump with a square chute with the instructor. Well, before I made my first jump, I had to go through a full day of intense training. And then I used a round chute. After that, it showed him landing on a Miami Beach seashore with he and his instructor landing feet first. Come one, when I made my first jump, I landed alone with no instructor and butt first.

In fact, I don't know of any sky-diving onto the beaches. That is, unless things have changed since I was in Miami.

1. It's a movie...you can't expect realism.
I was stunned to see a fairly realistic view on Africanized bees on Sci-Fi channel last night. You just don't see realism/truth in movies much anymore.

2. you know
the fact that you gotta be skydiving in Miami to tell this movie isn't realistic makes me think it wasnt a top priority for the producers to make it 100% realistic

5000 ft static line. I landed on my ass too. Jumping was the easy part...landing...that is another story.

9. I can sympathize with that.
After landing on my butt and then having the wind drag the chute a few more hundred feet was almost enough to make me give up this sport. But I did after a few more jumps and almost getting killed. But that is another story.

10. It is fun...
but very dangerous...I landed on the runway once and broke 2 bones in my right-foot when I hit the pavement. I didn't have much time to think about the pain though because there was a plane landing and heading right at me.

I wish I could still jump but I just don't have time anymore.

6. In CA they land on the beach
But only when they are wind-sailing or whatever you call it when you jump off a cliff.

Oh, and even the experienced ones often land on their butts.

7. My stepson's mother did her first jump in a tandum with her instructor...

I don't remember the shape of the chute, though, but I believe they did land feet first on the beach in northeast Florida.

Personally, I could never figure out why anyone would want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane.....

8. Well,. I decided that it was silly to jump from a perfectly good
plane. So I took flying lessons.
