Who in the world is Serge A. Storms???

Serge A. Storms is the anti-hero of a series of novels written by a Florida writer named Tim Dorsey. The books were recommended to me several months ago by a fellow DUer, who -- correctly I might add :hi: -- told me that they were excellent for belly laughs.

The books follow a one-man Florida crime wave led by Serge A. Storms, a loveable psychopath if ever there was one. Serge can find the most inventive way to sow murder and mayhem on some of Florida's evildoers, while his encyclopedic knowledge of that state's history is incredible. At the same time, the socio-political commentary on the Sunshine state is on the mark.

Currently, I am reading the sixth in the series "Cadillac Beach". As I read I am thinking someone needs to make a movie of these books, maybe even a series of Serge movies, they'd be a shitload better than so much of the dreck we get from Hollyweird.

I am stuck on one thing: who should play Serge? Has anyone read any of these books? Who do you think would find Serge the role of his career?

I enjoy the Doc Ford series for their action and humor. If you have not read them check out Randy's web site http://rwwhite.com/

One of the best characters is Tomlinson, the brilliant, eccentric, left-over hippie.
