valentine's day ideas
I think it would helpful for all of us to share our creative ideas we have for that special person in our life. Perhaps we can get away from the commercial use of this day with diamonds and candy and flowers and really share and count the ways that we love them.

1. I always do handmade gifts for Valentine's Day.

Here's what I've done in years past...

1. I typed out the story of how we met in really nice font. I printed out the pages and mounted them in a blank journal. There will be plenty of room to continue the story and record memories and special events in. I glued ribbon to the inside of the front and back covers so that it would tie shut.

2. I've made him t-shirts with printed out iron-ons of his art work on them.

3. I got one of those craft boxes shaped like a chest. I covered it in red satin and edged the box with faux pearls. Then, I found a blank heart template and typed out 100 or so things I loved about him inside the hearts. I printed it out on different colored papers, cut them out, and put them in the box. He can open it anytime and read any of the number of reasons I love him.

And then baking up something sweet is always a plus. I've done brownies, cookies, hand poured chocolates, chocolate dipped strawberries, etc. It's all about being inspired by the love you have for that special someone.

Although, I will say that after being together for 11 years, it's getting harder to think of new ideas. LOL

9. We don't exchange gifts
I probably have to work..if we do anything it will probably be dinner, movies or clubbing. But we probably won't give a gift (bought or homemade) to each other. I could really care less.

12. One year
I bought a package of little satin conversation hearts with stickies on the back. Before he got up, I stuck them everywhere he was going to be making a stop in the morning when he did get up...the fridge, the coffee pot, the mirror over the bathroom sink, under the lid of the toilet.

14. Fleetwood Mac.
I've been married more years than most people have teeth. On our honeymoon so many years ago, we stopped in Vegas and saw them in concert.

When I saw they were on tour I bought two tickets for their May 30th show at the MGM and a couple cheap flights.

Usually he gets a card and we make dinner at home.
