Have you ever been burned by "Repy to All"
I always feel bad for the emailer, and sometimes amused when I get an email where someone accidently "replied to all" and said something that was meant for one person's eyes only. Often the email contains potentially embarrassing comments about one of the recipients.

I just sent an email where I made a comment about one of my co-recipients of the original email - and even though in my sent folder it only had one email address in the Sent To: List, I got all paranoid that it went to everyone.

So I called two other recipients of the original email and asked them to check their mail to make sure they didn't get my response. They said they didn't. But yet - I still feel anxious.

This is why I can never get into flame wars on DU - I just can't say bad things about anyone without feeling mega guilty.

1. well, something similar:
last weekend, I got incredibly drunk and said a lot of things to many people who I shouldn't have said them to, as if I were just running off at the mouth in my own mind.

I'm old fashioned.

3. well, there may have been some of that
I did have to introduce one my my English friends to the phrase "bros before ho's" - something that I definitely wouldn't have ever said sober! Oh, dear.... I also relayed certain information that had probably been told to me in confidence. Apparently all of those present were wholly entertained, though I fear what may happen if they open their mouths around certain people. I may be digging my own grave with a built-in delay.

4. Here is a confession because the people I did it to are TS'd DUers...
I accidentally (almost always) would PM a person instead of alerting on them. I would send a "ban this obvious troll/sockpuppet/deranged Duer who used to reincarnate once a week" to the DUer instead of hitting alert. Talk about red face.

5. it should be "oh shit" instead of "reply all"
and if there was EVER a need for a pop up warning with "are you sure you want to ..." that is the spot!

6. Years ago
before the world wide web, our office had email installed. A couple of the engineers were playing with the novelty of sending messages to each other. Well, the graphics were pretty crude and one of the engineers thought that he had selected his buddy out of the list of all (500+) employees when in fact he had actually selected everyone except his buddy. The message was 'go fuck yourself!'

When his buddy didn't get the message, he began to wonder. Then his phone began to ring.

11. Just a few weeks ago I accidentally replied to a listserv instead of the original author
The term "shirtless pirate" might have been present in said mass-email.

13. "Reply to All" usage is a pet peeve of mine. Too many people use it
and it especially got me worked up when someone was scolding the original sender of the email and the rest of us ended up "in the middle" of a tit-for-tat situation. PLEASE LOSE THE REPLY TO ALL FUNCTION 99% of the time

14. No, but I've seen it happen.
A guy was complaining to payroll about how they were deducting from his paycheck because he deadbeat dad and wouldn't pay for child support himself.

Boy, that was a doozy.

19. Not me, but happened to a friend of mine.
A guy was very unfairly accused and had some nasty shit said "to his face" via Reply-All. He subsequently quit his volunteer position over this. Shame. :(
