I took my Grandmother to her Diabetes Doctor today
They just called last week and asked her to come in today at noon. Since my Grandfather gave up driving, I have been driving her to her appointments. What the clinic failed to tell her is that on top of her check-up, she was going to sit through a 2 hour class on how to take care of yourself with diabetes.

I sat in the waiting room from noon to three PM. Thank god I had a fully charged Ipod, otherwise I probably would have strangled someone..LOL I just hanged out and watched three hours of the Simpsons.

1. You are fortunate. I took my wife to a hospital last spring,
and waited for about 3 hours with a TV locked in to Fox News AM show.

I spent most of the time walking the halls.

2. I would have done that too
Explored the halls if I didn't have my Ipod. I can't watch TV in hospital waiting rooms because I am hearing impaired and most waiting rooms don't bother to turn on the closed captioning.

3. Well, about 2 months ago I sat on a hall stretcher for at least 4 hours in an emergency room.
Good thing I didn't have a blood clot (the reason I was there)!

4. ERs are ridiculous
I have been to the ER a few times in 2007 when I was drinking a lot with "drunkards' pneumonia" (the hiv didn't help i am sure) and for alcohol withdraw. They didn't want me to be in the waiting room spreading germs so they put me in an exam room right away. I was in a hospital room (to myself) within 2 hours of arriving. They shot me full of ativan and I would just pass out.

I still drink, but not like I used to, incidentally.I just like beer too much to give it up,I just don't let it control me like it did in 2007.
