Has there been a turducken thread yet?
I just ordered a turducken roll on line for Thanksgiving. I'm so excited, I've been wanting one ever since I heard John Madden talking about it. Of course, he used to deep fry his.

1. I'll be sure to have Mom and the gang stop by
they'll be doing a more traditional, turducken-free spread just up the road. (We did get to your town on my last visit, for breakfast at Dorian's. It's really quite lovely, though the houses are shoved together kind of like mini-McMansions.) Just think! You could be talking Yankee baseball with a hard-core repuke (stepdad, not Mom)! :-)

See, I knew you had potential: turducken is originally a Louisiana thing! In fact, in 2005, there were fears of a Katrina-induced turducken shortage; the suppliers, one of the largest of which is in NOLA proper, were able to restock in the nick of time.

2. How was Dorians
You know, that place has changed owners every year for like the last 4 years. Who ever had it though always had a nice breakfast buffet. Haven't been there this year tho. next time check out the Starving Artists Cafe, or Nagles.

And in Asbury, they've just opened a slew of new places on the Boardwalk, really nice. Fingers crossed they stick around.

I didn't realize turduckins were a cajun thing - I actually ordered it from cajungrocer.com.

3. All right, but they stiffed me and Stepdad on the sausage!
"Pancakes and sausage" turned out to come with one lousy sausage link each! R.S.'s son managed to help him out with a half link from his own side order, but for me, bupkis. You could hear the grumbling all the way back to Long Branch... be advised. :-) Otherwise, it's a decent place to go for breakfast with an ocean view. Oh yes, we got to go back right on my way out of town, 'cause Mom left her sweater there. Bear in mind this was in mid-Sept. :dunce: I never did tell R.S. that I found their number on a GLBT webiste...

4. Ocean Grove is an interesting mix of gay friendliness and Christianity
Someone in the local gay rights group took this awesome photo which totally sums it up.
