1. and II and III and IV and Houses of the Holy and Physical Graffitti
Really even if their last few were weaker I still celebrate their entire catalog.

3. what's really interesting is
Led Zep I and Quicksilver's 2nd album "Happy Trails" came out about the same time, late 1969...

Both great works but so different yet alike in the use of feedback for that great psychedelic feeling...

Cleveland Public Hall. Grand Funk Railroad opened for them.

8. Indeed. One of their five perfect albums.
I, II, IV, Houses and Physical are dead perfect. The others are merely near perfect. A great, great band.

10. I would tend to agree with your statement
The reason why I don't like III quite so much is the overlong "Since I've Been Loving You", which also does not match the groove they had on their earlier blues numbers. Also, I feel the same about "Achilles Last Stand" on Presence...Nice riff but at almost 11 minutes I find it monotonous...also a few other songs are a little too herky-jerky offbeat for me...In Through The Out Door, well, it took years for that one to come out, and in the meantime punk rock had begun, so they were like dinosaurs at that point..."In The Evening" is a great song, though...Live albums and Coda don't count! :)

I saw them live, March 25, 1975, in Vancouver BC...drove there from Portland with my high school buddy(a week later we left for USAF bootcamp, and our girlfriends to see them and that's one of my best memories ever!

9. They are all genius
esp. compared to today's music.

I was watching "Almost Famous" last night..and it hit me. It's just some of the best music ever made.
