What music are you looking forward to the rest of the fall?
Looking for some new suggestions. I'm a bit bummed because it looks like the Love Willows CD and new Michelle Branch solo CD have been pushed back to next year. Also no news on The Like's next CD.

Here are some I have my eye on:

Pink - Funhouse
Taylor Swift - Fearless
Butch Walker - Sycamore Meadows
All-American Rejects - When The World Comes Down
Kelly Clarkson - not titled yet
Lee Ann Womack - Call Me Crazy
The Killers - Day & Age
Dido - Safe Trip Home
Travis - Ode to J Smith

1. the two that I just picked up
with my last bit of credit at my local Music Store. Gossip in the Grain--Ray LaMontagne & Little Honey--Lucinda Williams. Gossip is a little more produced than the first two. Very nice. And Little Honey???? She does it all. Growls, struts, as rockabilly & bluesy as I could hope for. That hasn't made it out of the player yet.

5. My biggie is a new one by the band Black Elk.
Their first one was a surprise kick in the head from out of left field. Any fans of The Jesus Lizard or the whole 90's Amphetamine Reptile Records sound will seriously dig these guys.

The new Capricorns is next month. Geisha is next month.

Um....

Other than that, there's not a lot officially on any dockets at the moment. Most of the years big releases are already out. Which is actually a good thing, because it means there will be a few unpredicted gems that will surprise me, and I love that. Each year has a bunch of things that come out of the blue and leave me slackjawed. :)

9. Split vote in the house but
I really like the new Ryan Adams and The Cardinals CD, Cardinology. Not technically released yet so I guess it can still be on the list.

Not really a lot else I'm excited about.

More than likely I will catch up on stuff that has already come out, but I missed out on when it first came out.

For instance, Bon Iver's For Emma, Forever Ago is terrific. I had actually listened to it when it came out, but it hits home a lot more now than it did then. Probably going to be pretty high on my top ten of the year at this point.

10. I'm all set for the fall.
Edited on Sat Oct-18-08 12:36 AM by Misabel
Jenny Lewis' "Acid Tongue" (released Sept. 24)
Rachael Yamagata's "Elephants...Teeth Sinking Into Hearts" (released Oct. 07)
Ane Brun's "Changing Of The Seasons" (released Oct. 14)
Ray LaMontagne's "Gossip In The Grain" (released Oct. 14)

There are no upcoming rest-of-the-fall releases (that I know of) grabbing my interest.
