Fuck. I left the oven on.
I forgot to turn it off after I took my pizza out. I left it on for about five hours. Global warming is all my fault.

Nice and warm in the kitchen now.

1. Well, when the ice sheet's gone in Antartica, we'll send the penguins after you.
They won't be in a good mood. And god help you if they bring the leopard seals along.

2. Given that I am a Linux nerd
being killed by irate penguins seems quite an appropriate way to go.

7. Don't you call them "cookers"? I saw that on "It's Me or the Dog".
Edited on Sat Oct-11-08 05:43 PM by mycritters2
This one dog kept jumping up on the "cooker".

Btw, in a McCain-Palin administration, watching "It's Me or the Dog" regularly would qualify me to be ambassador to the Court of St. James!

8. The cooker is the whole thing
comprising the oven, grill and hob.

12. Oh, what we'd call a "stove" or "range". Though I don't know a living soul who calls it a range,
besides the people who write newspaper ad supplements.

What's a hob?

13. We say stove too
Stove and cooker are synonyms. A range is something far more grand, the sort of thing you would find in a wealthy household, probably in the country.

The hob is the rings (gas or electric) that you put your pans on.

15. How interesting. We call hobs "burners".
One or the other of us should learn to speak English.:)

11. I did that once but worse
I apparently hit the knob when I was cleaning before going on vacation for over a week. Luckily it was only at 200 degrees and the pilot didn't go out, spewing gas everywhere. :scared: Surprisingly my gas bill wasn't really affected.
