I finally went to see a doctor. I have bronchitis and a sinus infection. I'm on antibiotics. I have a fever. Lelapin lives in an apartment and her neighbors were blasting music at 1:45am. I have a headhunter meeting at 9:30 and another at 3. I can hardly prop my eyes open. The economy, credit and the election have formed the perfect storm for anyone looking for a job. Very few jobs and even fewer phone calls.

I can do this, right? I can achieve what seems impossible now and find courage long-since lost. Self-confidence that evaporated after being humiliated and hurt.

I'm tired. I'm beaten down. I'm ready to curl into a ball and tell the universe "enough". Maybe the universe will move on without me.

You have a lot of skill and talent at your disposal, and a lot of options. Not all of the options are in your designated field, of course, but many people make a career change and then find something they like even better. What I did after college when I couldn't find a job in my field was to look through the paper and find the jobs that look like the most FUN, and start applying for them - enthusiastically! I got one, and it was! Sometimes I still wish I would have stayed there instead of deciding that I needed more education.
