Bands with 3 or more guitarists... let's make a list
I was trying to think of bands that, for at least some part of their existence, have featured 3 or more guitarists in their lineup.

NOTICE: Bass guitar doesn't count. I'm a bassist myself, so I'm not hatin'. But the bass is a different instrument, and besides, if we count the bass, most bands would have 3 guitars.

I consider bands like Scorpions and Pearl Jam fair game, since both Klaus Meine and Eddie Vedder sometimes play guitar, bringing the total to three.

Some bands that immediately come to mind:

Lynyrd Skynyrd: Ed King, Gary Rossington, Allan Collins, Steve Gaines...

E-Street Band: Springsteen, Little Steven, Nils Lofgren, sometimes Patty Scialfa...

come on... what other 'guitar army' bands are there?

2. Yes...
For a while, anyway! Frey, Walsh, Felder.

I hate it that Felder got SCREWN by those guys. I love Walsh, but Felder was the best in the band, IMO.

6. Yeah... Janick
He came into the fold when Dickinson returned from his solo venture bringing his guitarist with him.

Maiden can definitely make the 3 guitar thing work. Dave and Adrian did harmony stuff even before Gers came along... now they can do harmonies and not lose the bottom end that a rythm player provides.

I hear that Janick is quite the showman... whereas Dave and Adrian have always been more workmanlike in their stage presence.

7. I won't say "prance"....
...but, yeah, Janick Gers sure does like to move around. I've seen Maiden 8 or 10 times and it always seemed to me that Adrian Smith was working too hard to move, while Dave Murray was just too laid back to move. We used to joke that Dave Murray looked like a statue of Dave Murray..lol.

13. Bad Religion
Brett Gurewitz, Greg Hetson, Brian Baker. Baker was added when Mr. Brett left in the mid 90s to dedicate more time to Epitaph (the record label he owns) and remained following Gurewitz's return in 2005.

14. Superconductor
The Vancouver (Canada) ensemble Superconductor, led by singer Carl Newman, boasts one of the most bizarre line-ups on record (six guitars, two basses, drums) and plays an equally bizarre brand of melodic hard rock. The tuneful single Murderlizer (Scratch, 1991) announced a pack of merry pranksters, but the EP Heavy With Puppy (Boner, 1992) upped the ante with songs that were more than mere novelties (Satori Part One, Bushpilot), not to mention the curiously shaped instrumentals (Riffmania, Clamhammer). The band layers hostile sounds on top of memorable tunes.
Their method is in full bloom on Hit Songs For Girls (Boner, 1993), a collection of surreal ballads in the vein of the Flaming Lips (Scootin, E-Z Bake Oven, There Goes Helen), except for the mammoth Feedbackin', a trance a` la Earth.

I saw them live in Pomona, Ca in the early 90's.

35. Blue Oyster Cult
Has used three guitars in some of their music - the keyboard player pI did see Robert Fripp solo about 20 years ago, and he was very good - I had no idea how he was going to keep people interested in solo electric guitar for over an hour, but he did.
