so the neighbor's new kitten has discovered my cat door...
...and is happily purring on my lap. I am a happy man.

I'm like the neighborhood watch guy for cats around here-- all the local kitties know how to get in my house and that there is always food and water. A few years ago when on set of neighbors moved they came for their cats as they were leaving with the last load. Both were asleep on my bed.

Whup, Zippy-- his name is Zippy, and he's a little smokey grey kitten-- just climbed onto my shoulder and he's draped around my neck, nuzzling my beard!

2. Gawd I love kittens. Nothing better on planet Earth.
Some friends have a little 8-week old (all black). I just can't stand the adorableness. I feel like my heart will explode. :loveya:

we "stole" our neighbor's kitten...
ok. we didn't steal her.

But our neighbor (who is already a big ass) was leaving her outside ALL DAY. NO FOOD OR WATER.
AND it was raining and she was soaking wet.

My husband was home all last week (that's another story!) and she came up to him in the garage one day and started rubbing on his leg. (Scared him half to death, when he didn't see her coming.)
So, we told the neighbor that if he was having trouble taking care of her or needed someone to take her that we could take her. Or that we knew the people at the local shelter (a no kill shelter) and they would take her. Well the next two days my husband found her outside.
I was so pissed.
I told my husband that we were keeping her or finding a home for her, but I was not going to let her be outside with no food or water all day for one more day!
So we took her in. A different neighbor came over to tell us that we could have the cat, and that he didn't want her anyway. He was to chicken-shit to come over himself.

But now we are fattening her up. She's the cutest two-toned gray striped tabby ever! I guess she's really a calico because she has some orange on her back as well. She's getting along with our other girls (we have two other cats) too!

If somebody would tell me how to post a picture I would post one.

4. Nothing cuter than a man with a kitten.
