DU women, please don't shoot me, but I have to ask: Is Governor Palin's
MILFitudinousness (well, I think she has some of that going on anyway, but I'm a pig, I know) going to be a factor in the election?

If so, will it be a plus or a minus?

(Hey, it's the Lounge. Plenty of other forums to discuss her parenting skill and all that.)

that she's also a hotrod after six or seven shots of Cuervo Gold.

Just my impression. I could be wrong.

3. I doubt it. Not for the demographic they are targeting
I believe they are trying to woo the Clinton voters..older white women.
Besides, I have an Uncle who is a professor of political science and according to him people RARELY vote for a ticket based on a VP candidate. In short, perhaps a few idiots will vote that way, but not enough to make a difference, IMHO.

4. Ok, I know somebody told me what MILF stands for...
but damned if I recall...

Something about being married and fuckable?

Anyway, as best I can tell, she's not terribly intelligent or witty, so the fundy types who are bound by their particular flavor of pulpit to like her will probably ooo and ahh over her anti-choice stance to justify voting for her. I'm sure some will vote for McCain because they think Palin looks good; but that's probably the same crowd that didn't vote for Gore because he was "wooden".

7. No, it's "Mother I'd Like to ..." (You can fill in the blank.) I'm just trying to lighten up all
the weighty discussion of her on DU, and make a little joke, but I guess I didn't do that very well.

Jeez, and I thought people in the Lounge were relaxed.

8. She makes McCombover look positively ancient by comparison
This was mentioned as a drawback for former short-lister Bobby Jindal of La., who is only 36. But 44, female, and, I must admit, quite attractive? She makes him look like McCaveman!

Just be thankful that you're not in the same position as Mrs R; she has to wonder about me every day. And does so without complaining (much), saint that she is.

I don't really think that her MILFtudinousness will be a factor!

She is pretty in a vacuous, empty-headed sort of way, but not any more than that...

I think she was chosen to draw the Puma vote...

And she won't do that.

Just my two cents...

33. Nah, not "stones." Just an unfortunate tendency to ask the questions that are on everyone's
minds, but that they're all reluctant to ask.

I, however, prefer to burn my bridges before I get to them (read that phrase once again and you'll understand), which might explain why my two stints as a newspaper columnist didn't last very long.

34. Ok, here's how it breaks down for women Red....
First, for intelligent women in their 40's or 50's, this pick is a slap in the face. And Palin is too dumb, probably too crude and definitely too full of herself to realize it. By intelligent women I'm not talking only about professional women. Intelligent women of any stripe will recognize that Palin is more manipulative than smart, more clever than cautious.

Second, as looks go at 44, meh, she's ok in a schoolmarm sort of way. There is nothing there to appeal to women in their 20's or 30's. She could represent a role model but all she has done is act as a part time township council member, a part time mayor and governor for less than two years.

She'll win sympathy points for morality; having the child with Down's Syndrome. However the fact is that the feminists who supported Hillary Clinton did not do so for the sake of her ovaries. So they won't care. She'll be visiting troops overseas in no time as a way to align herself with the families of soldiers who have men and women in combat areas. What the hell...it will keep her out of McSame's way and the photo op's will be worth it to republicans.

The only one's who are going to care are the female Mary Kay makeup followers, the few men out there who think with their penis in place of their brains, a collection of white haired women who see her as their daughter and the willfully deluded. And the families with loved ones in Iraq or Afghanistan.

The rest of the country, or world, is not the mere state of Alaska. Her looks, her tendency to exhibit the type of female confidence that masks inexperience is dangerous in these times.

Does she look like she could be the type of married female who could or would play around? Oh yeah, in the past--but not now. Now she sees a prize in front of her that is more important than a fling.

Why? The relative attractiveness or lack thereof, in female candidates is/are ALWAYS a factor in the bubble headed, limp dicked, talking point(s)of Americana, of a patriarchal society.

Is she fuckable? If not, why in 10 words or less, is the great American voter essay when it comes to women politicians. Hair, clothes, body, looks, all that gets taken apart, piece by piece. (No pun intended)

It's so common place that I don't see it even being worthy of a yawn in a day or so.

It just be's like that sometimes.
