If you were a Dem Convention speaker, what music would play when you came out
and walked to the podium.

For me?

It would have to be "Hair of The Dog" by Nazareth.

Let's Work Together by Canned Heat. I think it would make a fantabulous campaign song. But that wasn't really the question.. oh well. :P

6. Tom Sawyer, by Rush...
Although at the bar I live above, the bartender has a habit of playing Shawn Michaels' theme "Sexy Boy" whenever he wants me to come downstairs, knowing that I can't resist the lure of having my own entrance theme.

7. Either "Welcome to the Terrordome" by PE or
"Wake Up" by Rage Against the Machine. My first few choices were much worse.

If I had to tone it down, it would be "Root Down" by the Beastie Boys, cuz if you wanna battle me you're putting loot down.

Yeah, guess I'd be the dark horse of the convention.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2MdXoWczvM

We don't own this place, though we act as if we did,
It's a loan from the children of our children's kids.
The actual owners haven't even been born yet.

But we never tend the garden and rarely we pay the rent,
Some of it is broken and the rest of it is bent
Put it all on plastic and I wonder where we'll be when the bills hit.

We can run,
But we can't hide from it.
Of all possible worlds,
We only got one:
We gotta to ride on it.
Whatever we've done,
We'll never get far from what we leave behind,
Baby, we can run, run, run, but we can't hide.
Oh no, we can't hide.

I'm dumpin' my trash in your back yard
Makin' certain you don't notice really isn't so hard
You're so busy with your guns and all of your excuses to use them.

Well, it's oil for the rich and babies for the poor,
We got everyone believin' that more is more,
If a reckoning comes, maybe we will know what to do then.

We can run,
But we can't hide from it.
Of all possible worlds,
We only got one:
We gotta to ride on it.
Whatever we've done,
We'll never get far from what we leave behind,
Baby, we can run, run, run, but we can't hide.
Oh no, we can't hide.

All these complications seem to leave no choice,
I heard the tongues of billions speak with just one voice,
Saying, "Just leave all the rest to me,
I need it worse than you, you see."
And then I heard...
The sound of one child crying.

Today I went walking in the amber wind,
There's a hole in the sky where the light pours in
I remembered the days when I wasn't afraid of the sunshine.

But now it beats down on the asphalt land
Like a hammering blow from God's left hand
What little still grows cringes in the shade like a bad vine.

We can run,
But we can't hide from it.
Of all possible worlds,
We only got one:
We gotta to ride on it.
Whatever we've done,
We'll never get far from what we leave behind,
Baby, we can run, run, run, but we can't hide.
Oh no, we can't hide.

31. This Frog....by Kermit the Frog...
This frog has to go his own way
This frog doesn't care what the other frogs say
This frog wants to be happy, and this frog has to try
This frog is gonna make it or know the reason why
I'm not gonna sit here like some dumb old bump on a log
That isn't me!
I'm gonna be this frog!

This frog has a song to be sung
This frog isn't gonna spend his life in a swamp, catchin flies with his tongue
This frog may slip and stumble, but this frog tries again
This frog never will grumble, but fall to rise again
This frog is staying with it, like a tick sticks to a dog
I'm gonna win!
You're gonna love this frog!
(This winning frog....)

This frog has some climbing to do
This frog has some dreams that he's makin come true
This frog never will falter, no not through slush or fog
This frog will not wear a halter, cause nothing halts this frog!
I made myself a promise as a young green pollywog:
I'll be on top!
Nothing can stop (Nothing can stop) THIS FROG!
(THIS FROG! THIS FROG! THIS FROG)

37. I'd want to say something by Led Zeppelin but I'd go with "Closer to the Heart" by Rush
If only for the opening lyrics:

And the men who hold high places
Must be the ones who start
To mould a new reality
Closer to the Heart
Closer to the Heart

Because the men (and women) who are in power must be the onwers to mould that new reality
