Drunkenness + eBay
As John McCain might say, "not a good combination, my friends. Not a good combination at all."

1. It's the online equivalent of...
...hunger + Whole Foods: a bank-account-emptying event.

3. sure is
Yes. Although at least with Whole Foods you're not left with a long-term reminder of the event cluttering up the house. *Sigh*

4. lol
The bowflex I can understand. Sweater maker and dragon swords? I think I'd need to be on something stronger than booze to bid on those!

7. That's not the half of it.
The sad part is when we sell this stuff in the spring at a yard sale, she thinks it's pure profit.

Don't even get me started about Goodwill. Whaddya gonna do? She's my gal and I love her.

5. I bought three cars on EBay, largely on impulse
After the third, I knew it was time to step away. And I was sober. Maybe I should take up drinking.

8. Yeah, I wish I did, too.
:(

One was a major, planned purchase. I had been planning to buy a new car, had the loan set up, and had a couple in mind, and then I found a Prius on EBay. This was early in 04, when they had just come out and there weren't any anywhere. So I clicked "Buy it Now." I'm in Austin, had to drive to Connecticut to get it. The seller told me he listed it, went out to check the mail, and it was sold when he got back. He also had half a dozen requests for more information. It was listed maybe twenty minutes. Great car, too, especially now.

The other two were old used cars--one allowed me to sell a more expensive car (on EBay) to get out of the payments. And the third was a present for my parents--an old conversion van. That one made me give up EBay. I didn't have the money, but they really needed it.
