3. Your choices are "Mamma Mia" or "Step Brothers"?
:wtf:

Did the Googleplex in Savoy close? If not, head down there and see...well, anything but "Mamma Mia" or "Step Brothers". But, in case you're having doubts, let me quote from my recently posted review of "Mamma Mia":

"There's 2 hours of my life I won't be getting back."

Next question?

4. somehow I can't see it as your kind of film...
you strike me as more of a Kill Bill kinda guy... (either that or foreign films for which no subtitles are needed)

13. it was good frothy fun,if you like that sort of thing, with some Shakespearean
tones. But who knew that Abba songs could make any kind of sense?

You don't strike me as a lover of musicals, JVS

16. Oh that's where you're wrong. I love West Side Story, and JC Superstar, and even Mary Poppins...
although I kind of like to mock the characters of Sound of Music. And I think the Umbrellas of Cherbourg is not only a great musical but also a great film. Yet Mamma Mia looked like less fun than colon cancer to me.

17. good deal...
I tend to assume that a lot of younger folks don't like musicals and that they are too delighted by films with explosions... and that probably isn't the case.

Umbrellas of Cherbourg is lovely.

Mamma Mia is very campy and broad. Suum quique.

18. It's a hoot! Just be prepared that it has no redeeming social value and no stuffy
intellectual meaning. It is just a fun flick. The ending is great fun, too.
