4. I remember geting off a lift at Kirkwood, winter of '79, and the guy working the chair

had written "Sex and drugs and rock and roll!" on the notice board. Had the radio blasting. Couldn't pull that off today, somebody would get their knickers in a bunch and complain for sure.

I adored Ian Dury - such a funny, spirited and humane person. Oddly, a good friend of mine and a distinguished guitarist, died recently of exactly the same progressive series of cancers as Dury. I miss them both, but their wonderful spirits live on
