Poll question: At what age is a person considered an adult?
One who can make decisions about their future, be responsible for thier actions and not need their parents permission or approval for their choices?

I believe that legally, it's 18... But as your poll indicates, some people never grow up! :hi:

9. It might seem a rough rubric, but it's what I've come up with over the years.
You're an adult when you can act like a human being.

8. Legally it may be 18, but I think it's 20
18 and 19 year olds still have a bit of growing and developing to do, especially given that their brains are not fully developed until 20.

15. 16, even in Peter Pan land of hyper extended adolescence
We do not let children drive on our interstate highways. It would be irresponsible to give a child keys to mechanized death. If a 16 year old kills someone they will (at the discretion of a judge) be tried "as an adult". Early menarche in our society tells that adulthood really starts at 12 years or so but I am using the drivers license as the signpost. You don't have to act like an adult to be one.

19. 18 to sign contracts and die for your country, 21 to buy beer
Seems to me that if you can sign a contract and die for your country at 18 you oughtta be old enough to buy a beer. Just my two cents. Laura
