I've had old friends popping up like crazy the last few weeks.

One of my friends called me a few weeks ago to tell me she'd abruptly moved back to town with her kids, as she's getting a divorce. Another called and said she was visiting and wanted to grab dinner, and another called and let me know that she was going to be here for a month, so I've had a great opportunity to catch up with her. My favorite former partner-in-crime e-mailed to tell me that she's coming to visit and she got married and is pregnant. It's nuts! I don't see any but my best friends for months, and suddenly all kinds of friends I don't often get to see descend in the space of about a month. It's starting to feel like the summer after my freshman year of college when everyone would still go home on the weekends and meet up.

I don't know what I would say if any of them called me, other than, "Thanks for abusing me during our 'friendship,' asshole. Now drop dead."
