So. Christian Bale's sister was after money after all
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1038185/Christian-Bale-flew-handle-family-begged-100k.html

Wanted 100,000 pounds to help her raise her kids. Also known in the family as a Bale-out. :P

---------

Batman star Christian Bale argued with his sister after she asked him for £100,000 to help raise her children, it was alleged today.

The 34-year-old Batman star is reported to have snubbed the plea and allegedly 'pushed and shoved' Sharon and his mother Jenny, 61, during a row in his suite at the Dorchester Hotel on Monday.

A source told The Sun: 'Christian is a very wealthy man and was asked to help his sister out financially.

'He was asked to loan her £100,000 but he refused and it caused an almighty row.'

Jenny Bale is also said to have made highly disparaging comments about the star's glamorous wife of eight years, Sibi, 38, a former make-up artist and model.

2. Well, we knew there had to be more to the story.
There must be really bad blood there, because personally, if I had his kind of wealth and a sibling asked for help, I'd be more than happy to oblige.

4. With his wealth, I'd give the money to a sibling even with the bad blood
just to keep her away from me. Bale must have a publicist and a lawyer on a tether. Better to let them handle it.

18. Yes. I haven't spoken to my brother in 10 years
and I never want to have to see, but if I had that kind of money I'd give him a few hundred thousand. For my mom's and nieces sake if for no other reason.
:shrug:

19. That's not how you keep someone away.
Paying people to go away is like scaring away ants by throwing sugar.

12. Yeah. I wondered about that.
My brothers are much better off than I am in general, but for me to come into a bundle and refuse one of them would require some sort of ongoing drug problem or a tendency to invest in scams or some such.

3. if it's true
and I'm not saying it is, but if it is...

that's an awful huge loan she's asking for. That's roughly $200,000.00 and it seems audacious to ask for it. If he decided to gift her with it, that would be a different story.

but I doubt we will ever actually know the real story. Isn't Bale known for being very private?

10. Press coverage
if you want to squeeze someone for money, creating a newsworthy event right then was a way to do it.

13. It would never occur to me to ask my sibling for something like that
I wouldn't turn down the money if it was offered to me, but I have waaaay too much pride to ask my brother for money.

14. Have to wonder if maybe his sister has some history of drugs or gambling...
in which case it makes sense that he didn't give her the money. I'd be interested in hearing the rest of the story, and I really hope he's a good enough person to at least set aside some trust fund for the kids that she can't touch, if there is some sinister reason he won't give her the money.

Sad situation.:(

BY BILL ZWECKER Sun-Times Columnist

'The Dark Knight'' star Christian Bale's alleged ''assault'' in London against his mother and sister is part of a long-simmering family feud.

<snip>

Bale reluctantly agreed to meet with his mother and sister Sunday at London's Dorchester Hotel -- before the European premiere of "The Dark Knight'' -- but things rapidly went downhill when the "Batman'' star realized they were there to hit him up for money.

According to a source close to Christian, Jenny and Sharon Bale wanted the star to back them in some kind of business venture. That triggered a nasty argument and Bale demanding they leave his suite -- leading him to allegedly push his mother, in an attempt to make her leave the room.

Now it seems Bale's mother and sister are attempting to peddle the "assault'' story to a media outlet -- for hard cash.

<snip>

Crew members on Bale's Chicago films -- including "Batman Begins,'' "The Dark Knight'' sequel and his recent stint co-starring with Johnny Depp in "Public Enemies'' -- also remember Bale blowups. "But they were over quickly, were simply about filming issues, were never anything personal ... and frankly, he was generally right,'' said a crew member who worked on all three of those movies.
