Yet another by-product of the shit-for-brains administration. :grr:

2. Yeah, but it's freaking all star game.
Couldn't they make an exception for one freaking game?

5. This song is blatantly unconstitutional
As an atheist, this is one of the many reasons I hate baseball with a passion.

9. As an atheist, I feel ya - but the Yankees aren't part of the government.
Interesting question comes to mind, though - do they take even one cent from the government? If so, they're breaking the law.

11. MLB does, I'm sure
be it city financing of stadiums or federal grants for MLB charities.

14. Yeah, but tax dollars are going to pay for stadiums these days.
I shit you not - just go to any rental car website and look up a major city like Detroit or Phoenix - odds are that they have a "stadium tax" associated with the rental car.

6. What ever happened to separation of church & state?
Such a quaint, eighteenth century notion that was.

"Our Father who art in heaven, and to the republic for which it stands, thy kingdom come, one nation indivisible as in heaven, give us this day as we forgive those who so proudly we hail. Crown thy good into temptation but deliver us from the twilight's last gleaming. Amen and Awomen.” (Carlin)

10. Yankee Stadium isn't a state
or a form of government. They've been playing that song for years.

7. I heard that at some stadiums the ushers won't let you out of your seats during the song either
gotta wait until it's over. What a load of crap. Mandatory "patriotism" I guess it goes along with mandatory religion and if you follow the same mind set leads to acceptance of torture. All very very 1984

8. That's at Jankee Stadium
They're the only ball club that still has "Dog Bless Mer'ka" at every home game. Everyone else now just has it on Sundays and "patriotic holidays."

16. Playing the National Anthem at the start of the game is fine
But it's the seventh inning stretch, for crissakes! That should be all about baseball.
