This is what I tell myself. :9

Let's just say I've developed an unfortunate habit over the last week or two. :eyes:

3. Actually...
Edited on Mon Jul-14-08 11:48 AM by Chan790
though they're not good for you...Starbucks scones actually tend to be lower in calories and fat than those sold in bakeries and made at home. The average scone recipe yields 8-12 scones at 800-1000 calories a serving according to my old copy of Joy of Cooking. The average Starbucks scone is just under 500 (according to company literature). The petite vanilla ones might as well be called "diabetic-killers" though. They're sugared sugar with a sugar-vanilla icing.

Combined with a cup of plain (Green, Black, or Herbal) tea, a fresh-fruit scone is a healthy and reasonable breakfast...provided you only have one. I'm having a raspberry scone with a cup of rooibos as soon as I get out of bed.

By and large, bagels with cream cheese and croissants are worse for you...and avoid the apple fritter like the plague.

4. Please don't tell me I have to break out the sarcasm smiley for a Lounge post?
Did you not see where, in the first line of my post, I said "This is what I tell myself" ?

C'mon. :eyes:

5. Well, if the New Yorker needs the sarcasm smilie on its cover for DU to "get" it,
what makes you so special that you don't?

:eyes:

Jeesh.

11. That's because they're made from cardboard.
You can eat all the cardboard you want and not get fat.

12. And the tall coffee-lite frap with no whipped cream is only 90 calories.
But the java chip with the chocolate whipped cream is just so much more satisfying. :D
