2. Interesting how much squarer ALL the Banks were in the very beginning.
They NEVER had anything approaching tea time in the later seasons--and Uncle Phil would have listened to Marvin Gaye sooner than J.S.Bach.

6. No, I think it got better as it went on...
..the other members of the family became more 3-dimensional. Had it not evolved, it wouldn't have lasted more than 2 seasons.

7. Quite possibly; season 1's format could only go so far...
But season 2 onward rarely gelled for me -- and then they got rid of Janet Hubert-Whitten and Vivian Mk II was even worse.
