Where do you download your music online?
I usually use i-Tunes, but, there are a bunch of songs that aren't available on there that I need for my iPod.
I used to use LimeWire- but I stopped & am not sure how that is now????

5. I am NEVER using iTunes again!
And I have written them to say so. The only way to transfer their music to an MP3 player without all but standing on your head and whistling Dixie is to buy an iPod, and frankly there are equally good players at less than a third of the price. This is like - say - Sony only releasing DVDs that require a Sony CD player. It's a really unethical way of promoting their product. Jeez, and they went after Gates for the same kind of crap. I don't care if they're hip: Apple just lost another potential customer last night.

I guess it's Amazon from here on in.

7. Indietorrents mostly.
It's exclusively independent label music and invite only, but I've got invites available for DUers who are interested.

I used to have an account but I'm sure it's long since been deleted since I haven't used it in ages.

Oddly, I was just wondering yesterday when checking your stuff on last.fm just WHERE you get your music, because I never see any of it available (I usenet).

8. Frostwire is the new limewire.
although it, too, is not as good as it once was. Scan everything you download before you open, just in case.
I second the Soulseek suggestion, although it takes awhile.

17. Yay it worked!! I found the song I wanted
I went and saw the movie "Wanted" yesterday and there was a really good Danny Elfman song in the movie- I love Danny, but the soundtrack on iTunes has the song listed as an "Album Only" which makes me mental.

20. Good!!
Glad you could find it.
Limewire is good for most popular and American/Canadian/UK stuff; Soulseek is for the more obscure songs, and really good for a lot of house/breaks/d&b/prog house/electro (that husband and i like!). Lots of (further)overseas stuff there.

23. The usenet newsgroups, torrants, IRC is still a good place.
Get yourself a good newsreader like Agent and use the newsgroups. You can get literally anything there. Movies before they hit the theaters, audiobooks, full TV series, games, all kinds of warez and of course .mp3s.

And as for Soulseek, it's usually best for harder to find music.

27. iTunes
unless it's an incredibly hard to find mix of a certain song or a rare song or mix that isn't available to buy elsewhere, then I usually turn to Limewire, but I haven't used it in months.

28. How many hipster points do I lose for using Zune?
I can explain.

Really.

We have an Xbox and we buy Microsoft Points to add songs to the Rockband video game.

The same CC # and account works on Zune so when we're craving stuff we buy it there.
