What's up with my kitteh?
I shattered my ankle on Memorial day and had to be hospitalized for surgery. I made sure my Tyler Cat was looked after and when I go home he seemed really happy to see me which I thought was normal. I'm confined to a wheelchair and the sofa for the most part and he will ride in my lap when I'm pushing myself around in the wheelchair. He won't leave my side now. Do you think he knows I'm hurt? I haven't had a cat in 10 years and he just selected me. He was feral but now he's a big baby.

3. cats know when we need comfort.
when I had surgery, my grumpus cat Scamp stuck right by my side, never tried to lie on my incision (normally she would like to drape herself on my abdomen, just kept as close to me as possible next to me on the bed.

When I was my sickest during The Cold That Would Not End, at least one of my cats was right by me especially when I would lie down to rest

I absolutely think that when we have fever, they like to snuggle with us for the extra heat

5. They know
I remember one day when I was really sick home at bed. One cat stayed curled up at my side and the other crawled under the covers and climbed on my feet and slept there..a living warm, fuzzy hot water bottle...

7. I think you're right
He was affectionate before I got hurt but now he's hyper affectionate and clingy. I used to have a Golden Retriever (R.I.P. Scarlett) who knew when I had PMS and would lick the tears from my face when I was sobbing over Bette Davis movies.

6. His friend was gone and now you're back
And you don't walk, perhaps he senses things are different.

My brother had his foot operated on a year ago and to this day, and Daisy will only play fight with the good foot, in fact she avoids touching the bad foot at all.

Get better soon please, sending out vibes for you and Tyler. :)

10. he knows
Cats know. My best friend cat that I had as a teenager knew when I was sad or upset. He was my best friend, dude!

12. They really do know when you're sick...
My late cat always, always slept on my parents' bed - she wouldn't go anywhere else at night and would just go back if they moved her. But once, when I was staying over because I had thrown my back out and could barely move, she stayed with me the whole night. :)
