Had to call the Police on a dog left in a vehicle in Costco's parking

lot...Aprox 80+ degree weather, car parked in the open, tinted windows and the car was a black Escalade.
The dog was panting heavily when I parked in front of the car. Took about 10 minutes for the fire dept to arrive and the owner had just got to the car. Don't know what was said but it seriously pisses me off how some pet owners have no idea what a hot car does to a dog

but a disproportionate number of overprivileged asshats drive SUVs.

edit: It goes without saying that anyone who would do that to a dog, whether in an Escalade or a Yugo, is an asshat. The Escalade merely adds the extra dimension of "overprivileged asshat".

re-edit: There are presumably overprivileged asshats who drive Priuses, because they think it makes them look cool. But, do they come in black? :-)

People who are that inconsiderate to pets, and endanger them like that, just shouldn't have pets.

10. I did the same thing at Costco once.

It was a chocolate lab in a Jag in August. Went to the Costco desk and they started paging people. They called police and they ripped the convertible top open. I laughed and laughed. The dog was okay.
