I hate when mods lock threads

or delete posts. I'm an adult, I can handle it. Sure, if it's a personal attack. That should be deleted. Otherwise, let me read it - I'm in my 40's and I don't need to be told what I can read!

I'm not really dissing the mods - we do have and have had some great ones. (if I can only convince EstimatedProphet to mod again- he was one of the best.)

smoothly. And that is because of the mods and Admin. There have to be some rules. I rarely come across a locked thread.

but the truth is that unmoderated internet discussion forums above a certain critical mass are painful to watch, unless you just feel like rubbernecking. A small hobbyist Usenet forum is one thing. A big popular political website like this would be so inundated with trolls and flamewars that the current mess in GDP would look like Candyland in comparison.
