DU is screwing up my reading attention span.

I've gotten to the point where I only like reading "articles" that are only three paragraphs long. Once I've reached that threshhold, I move on. Or maybe there's just so much to read, I feel like I'm wasting time if I spend too much time on one subject.

Is this healthy? The jury is still out.

If you can't make your point in less than a paragraph, then I'm not interested. Sometimes, when reading a book, I think "Oh just give me the plot outline!"

Sometimes I read the last chapter in a book so I know how it ends and then I decide whether I want to read it from the beginning.

2. I never follow links anymore to articles.

I've found that by monitoring DU, you already know the background of any article, having read any information that might be background in other three paragraph posts previously on DU. Thus, the three paragraphs are all you need.

I don't like to think of it as an attention span issue. It's more of a I'm already fully informed so just give me the new information only issue.
