So when you order a pizza and say "pepperoni on half"

Why do they only give you half as much pepperoni but still charge you the same $1.80 or whatever for a whole pizza's worth of topping?

That's like saying "I'd like half a tank of gas, please, but go ahead and charge me for filling the whole thing."


And before anyone suggests that the $1.80 is some kind of "threshold" fee, which you have to pay whether you get half or all the topping, there's no reason at all that they can't put all of the pepperoni on one half of the pizza. None!

6. I can think of two possible reasons: 1) the pepperoni comes in pre-packaged

servings, and they have to open a whole package even if you only want half (and they don't put the whole amount on half the pizza because they have a rigid, pre-conceived, corporate-mandated vision of what pepperoni density is proper for a pepperoni pizza), or

2) there is no 1/2 button on the cash register, and kids these days can't do math </grumpy oldish dude>.
