[My Good Babushka]

Here is a portrait I've been working on. I'm really excited about it. The client chose all of the additional accoutrements, the theme, and supplies a picture of her cat that she wanted in the portrait. It's really really fun to work on. I would love to do a similar portrait again, or even a portrait for a couple. I think it would be an awesome wedding/anniversary type gift. Well, enough of the sales pitch, see for yourself.


And yeah, the damask wallpaper was a torture. But the results are well worth it.

Yes, I could see doing that for certain people I know. I will keep that in mind next time I need a nice unique gift. (My grandfather was a painter so we have an appreciation for that sort of thing in my family even if no one has inherited the talent)

The heart thing is a little wild; it would be interesting to hear about that aspect of the painting.

She likes those "sacred heart" ikons, and she is a scholar of early medical texts, anatomical illustrations, so it suited her perfectly.
