What did you/are you doing for your Mom/Wife tomorrow?
To all that are, that is. To those whose Moms are passed or from whom they are estranged,

I had 2 dozen multicolored roses delivered to my Mom today. She loved them. As many of you know, she's very ill, and I couldn't get home tomorrow, so...I'm glad she liked the best that I could manage.

2. Nothing.
Mom decided at the last minute to go to Oregon for the weekend, which is just as well, because I'm going to San Francisco and wasn't going to be home anyhow.

We spent last weekend together.

7. I feel bad about this but I think I'm giving my mom cash. I
loved the old days when I could give her something non-practical and thoughtful but her financial situation is not good - she told one of her friends she couldn't go out to lunch with her because she couldn't afford it :-(

I might get her something little and non-practical to go with the cash.

8. I went down to see Mom today, actually - I was supposed to go on
Friday for a pre-Mother's Day Tea they were having at the assisted living facility where she and her husband live, but she was really ill on Thursday night and was not feeling up to company on Friday :-( So I waited until today and went down just for a couple hours; didn't want to wear her out. Brought her a card and a CD of some instrumental versions of some old standards that they both like, and that I hope they'll enjoy listening to together. She was feeling much better today :-)
Tomorrow, I will be heading out to the cemetery to tend to my daughter's grave; I'll take the grandkids with me so they can visit as well on Mother's Day. She's been gone ten years now.
Not sure what SarahBellum and Hubby have planned; I know there's one room I'm not supposed to go into tonight, so apparently I'm not a last-minute afterthought this year *lol*

11. We are going to lunch.
Cause I have to work later in the day.

I bought her flowers yesterday, and the sis and I got her this charm to put on her bracelet, it's one of those Pandora bracelets or something like that and then we got her a Vera Bradley bag.

14. I wasn't able to be there for it
But my dad and li'l sister had the annual "let mom kick their asses as scrabble at least twice" night. Not that she wouldn't win by over 50 points anyway, but because of that, it's generally once a year that she gets to.

17. I took her to see Richard Marx last night
It was an incredible concert. We were supposed to spend today together with my brother and my boyfriend shopping but she had to leave this morning because a young patient of hers developed complications. The last I heard from her was that she was prepping for surgery. I hope she is able to make that baby's mother have a day she will never forget.
