Inside-the-park homer!
Blake DeWitt puts the Dodgers up 5-4. :woohoo:

This is a kid who, before this season, had a year and a half in A-ball and half a season at Double-A Jacksonville. The only reason he's even in the show is the Dodgers started the season with three third basemen on the DL.

He's hitting .321. :D

2. This game has been friggen insane...
Inside the park homers, a 41 year old man with bum legs stealing home and despite both starters not making it very far in this game, it's only a 5-4 game. I blame the Clenis for the craziness tonight

3. Yeah, and 1:28 to play the first three
And it was only 4-3.

The Dragon throws 80 pitches in 3 1/3. Figgy throws 104 in five.

That's baseball.

14. Wouldn't be that hard
All it has to do is get rid of that tenth player and those 22-ounce bats. :D

16. You'd be better off dumping Extra Innings
and getting XM.

You'd save money, too.

17. I still wouldn't be able to listen to it.
An appointment is an appointment...and ball games on the radio are generally frowned on.

Besides....I like my Extra Innings. When I'm home to watch it.

21. Home.
Or work. That's 'bout it.

Talk about your thrill-a-minute life. S'okay, though. Excitement is waaaaaaaay overrated.

22. I just realized you prolly couldn't listen at work, anyway
Dunno if they'd let you, but regardless, XM needs southern exposure for the antenna, and you prolly don't have that in a big ol' newsroom.

23. Oh, southern exposure we got...
one side faces south. Granted, it's the news side, but hey...

I wouldn't be able to listen at work, though. Sometimes the Rockies are on...even the Cubs every once in a while if they're on WGN...but never with sound. I think the volume got turned up a little bit for a few minutes in the 6th game (?) of the NLCS back in 2003...but then it got turned back down again.

Not even October baseball.

24. Suits are shitheads that way
At the Flea Ranch, we had CNN until they had the cable stopped. Even when we offered to kick in for it, they wouldn't do it.

A newsroom without 24-hour news? :wtf:

Prolly had something to do with "Springer Break." Jerry Springer was on one of the SF stations at noon back then, and about half the place would be eating lunch in the conference room and watching. :D

6. Wow! How often does that happen these days?
I'm not the biggest baseball fan, to be sure...but
I watch as many games as the next guy. And I can't
remember ever seeing an I-T-P-HR in a Major League game.

11. Two or three times a year, maybe
Many universal elements must line up in a certain way to allow it. In this case, an outfielder fell down.

Last one for the Dodgers was in 2003.
