Five Random Questions for a Tuesday Night:
1) What is your favorite season, if you have one?

2) What habit or characteristic in yourself would you most like to change?

3) Which household chore would you gladly give up forever, and which OTHER chore are you willing to take on just to avoid the hated one?

4) If you didn't have to work to earn a living, to which good cause would you most like to volunteer some time?

5) What's the first 45/album/eight track/cassette/CD you remember buying?

My answers:
1)I love autumn, but spring edges it out...it's such a reward after a long winter!
2)I tend to interrupt people, and I'm trying to recognize that more and NOT DO IT! I don't like being rude!
3)I'd take on vacuuming to give up dishes; I hate doing dishes more than just about anything.
4)I love building stuff, and I know how much owning a home means to me, so I'd do the Habitat for Humanity thing as much as I could. Anytime I get to be grubby and play with power tools, I'm a happy woman :-)
5)I think the first vinyl I bought was a 45, but I can't honestly remember what it was; the first CD I ever bought when I was switching over was Fleetwood Mac's "Mystery to Me."

1. Dropping in...
1) What is your favorite season, if you have one?

I live in Florida, so it's any season short of summer.

2) What habit or characteristic in yourself would you most like to change?

I'm very shy, and I hate it.

3) Which household chore would you gladly give up forever, and which OTHER chore are you willing to take on just to avoid the hated one?

I do all the chores in my house, so I can't really answer this one.

4) If you didn't have to work to earn a living, to which good cause would you most like to volunteer some time?

Crew on the Farley Mowat with Sea Shepherd.

5) What's the first 45/album/eight track/cassette/CD you remember buying?

First 45 I ever bought with my own money was "I Was Made For Lovin' You" by Kiss. I was 8 years old. I do believe that this scared my mother quite a bit.

14. I'll have a go at it:
1) They all have their good points, but I'm partial to winter, especially since I live in an area where it doesn't get that cold (50's-60's during the day).

2) Lack of well-developed social skills. Trying to interact outside my immediate circle of friends feels like bringing a knife to a gun fight.

3) I hate washing/mopping the floors, and I'd gladly do all the cooking, 7 days a week, to avoid it.

4) Getting more public funding for the arts, and for artists (including wannabe writers like me :P). That's the first thing that comes to mind.

5) Probably some R&B/pop-rap type bullshit I bought in like sixth grade.

15. I was tempted to say Winter was my favorite season.
Only because I have so many allergies. Trees, weeds, grass, mold, dust, animal hair, etc.

Some of those are year around. (And I will NOT give up my pets!) But I'm mostly allergic to Spring, Summer, and Fall. Freshly cut grass makes me sneeze, snort, and knocks me on my ass for several hours.

16. 1. We have two seasons, dry and flood. I'm not a fan of the heat, but it sucks less than flooding.
Well, that's not entirely true, I don't really mind the heat until it gets over 105 or so. I'm from here, so I'm used to it, though I have to be careful about staying hydrated.

2. I bite my nails. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but sometimes they get too short and the skin splits and gets infected, so I really need to break that habit, because that really hurts when it happens.

3. I'd gladly cook more if I didn't have to do the dishes.

4. My volunteerism is limited more by parenthood than by work. Hopefully now that the kid is growing up a bit, we can start finding things to do together.

5. And Justice for All, I think. On vinyl.

Going to bed too late.

1) What is your favorite season, if you have one? I live in a four season state and I love all four but fall is my favorite for the weather, the color, and football!

2) What habit or characteristic in yourself would you most like to change? Impatience. I need to be more cognizant and tolerant of how other people process information.

3) Which household chore would you gladly give up forever, and which OTHER chore are you willing to take on just to avoid the hated one? Cleaning the bathroom. I'd happily iron everything in the house to give that up.

4) If you didn't have to work to earn a living, to which good cause would you most like to volunteer some time? Fair elections.

5) What's the first 45/album/eight track/cassette/CD you remember buying? First 45: Suite Judy Blue Eyes by Crosby, Stills and Nash. First album: The Smothers Brothers Live Volume II. I was eight when I bought both.

21. My answers of DOOM!
1) What is your favorite season, if you have one?

Not summer, that's for damned sure. Heat-sensitive to an absurd degree. I like early spring when it's 60-65 out during the day and still snows at night. Playing in the snow when it's 65-degrees out is a joy most of you will never experience. My online crush told me hers is late fall because everything ices over and is beautiful against the moonlight. That would have been a close second.

2) What habit or characteristic in yourself would you most like to change?

I'd like to be less juvenile. I mean have you seen some of the crap I've said here? I'm this bad IRL too.

3) Which household chore would you gladly give up forever, and which OTHER chore are you willing to take on just to avoid the hated one?

I don't mind doing the dishes, but I hate putting them away.

4) If you didn't have to work to earn a living, to which good cause would you most like to volunteer some time?

I used to be an NPO professional...I wouldn't volunteer because I know that I am capable of much higher-level tasks than paid staff will entrust to a volunteer. I'd take a position in the area of visual arts and donate my salary back anonymously.

5) What's the first 45/album/eight track/cassette/CD you remember buying?

The Ghostbusters II soundtrack...I was 7 or 8...I know it sucks, but I liked the movie...7 year olds like action, not plots or aesthetics. The purchase had nothing to do with the music. I do feel blessed that I missed the hair-metal thing entirely, the first two CDs I ever consciously went out and purchased because I liked the music were "Nevermind"(Nirvana) and "Ten"(Pearl Jam) on the same day. Both are considered to be seminal groundbreaking albums of the early 90s. Both are timeless and are still in rotation on my MP3 player. I rock!

22. SUMMER!
1) Summertime, summertime, sum-sum-summertime. Summertiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime!!!!!

2) I have a real short fuse, and it's getting shorter as I get older. I act like I like it, like it's something I'm proud of, but I really hate it.

3) I live in a house with two other adult males. We all clean up after ourselves.

4) I really don't know what I'd do. I'd start with recovering drug addicts, and work from there...

5) My first record was a 45, probably the Beatles or the Monkees. Can't remember which...it was a loooong time ago.

1) What is your favorite season, if you have one? I'll say Autumn, but I love aspects of all seasons generally

2) What habit or characteristic in yourself would you most like to change? I should be more spontaneous or ready to alter plans, I tend to be a creature of habit at home and although I'm ok on the trail when it comes to making changes in plans to accommodate dangerous changes in conditions I don't take advantage of heading off in a new direction just for exploration's sake when sometimes I should.

3) Which household chore would you gladly give up forever, and which OTHER chore are you willing to take on just to avoid the hated one? Yard Work! Laundry, dish washing, anything really

4) If you didn't have to work to earn a living, to which good cause would you most like to volunteer some time? Trail Maintenance or watershed monitoring, and HOrizon's For Homeless a local organization that provides free day school type care for toddlers.

5) What's the first 45/album/eight track/cassette/CD you remember buying? This is s tought one but I'm gonna say the Cars: "The Cars" it was a cassette, that much I remember

1) I like Autumn. Football, colors of nature and the end of the miserable DC area summer swelter.

2) Procrastination

3) We pay other people to do our really hated chores, it's one of the benefits of not buying the most expensive house you possibly can. That leaves Dishes, Cooking and Laundry. I do Cooking and Dishes to get out of doing laundry.

4) I deliver meals to people

5) A 45 of Hey Jude

26. can I answer on Wednesday morning :)
some of my answers are the same as yours

1) My favorite season is Spring because my perennials start growing and the birds and squirrels all come out and the leaves grow back on the trees. I can open all the windows and sit outside.

2) I interrupt a lot too! I talk fast and I'm used to the way my family talks- with everyone saying what they think all at once and everyone hearing each other, they're great. But when I hang out with my husband's family or the people I'm sometimes working with, everyone takes turns talking.. and some people can talk so slow x( I have a hard time slowing down so I end up blurting things out sometimes.

3) I would vacuum a lot more to give up dishes too, I hate the dishes because of the noise the plates make, it always sounds like they're breaking. We have a dishwasher but we might as well not because I have to hand-dry every dish anyway before I put it away. Vacuuming's my 2nd least favorite but I'd do it more if I could stop doing dishes.

4) I volunteer for Animal Welfare League and for NPR every week.

5) I always had a lot of 45's but the first album I bought was probably Stevie Nicks Bella Donna.

1) Whichever season is coming up next, when I get tired of the present season. But if I had to choose, I'd say fall. Autumn in the northeast--ahhh nothing like it.

2) I can be a space cadet and neglect my friends a little more than I should.

3) I do all the chores, so I can't replace it, but I HATE HATE HATE HATE changing the litterboxes--four of 'em for three cats, and yet our runty neurotic part-Persian STILL poops on the floor right next to a litterbox. Or outside the bathroom door if she's pissed about something. And yeah, I have to clean up those stinkeroonies too, on a regular basis.

4) I would love to be a museum docent.

5) When I was a tot, I convinced my family to buy me Partridge Family albums (I have three, I think, but don't ask me which ones--they're in my mom's attic). The first 45 I bought with my own money was "Saturday Night" by the Bay City Rollers. First album was Styx, "Grand Illusion." :P

28. my answers,
1) summer. you can do alot more things in summer than any other season.
2) I'm way too timid and un-assuming. I get taken advantage way too easily because of it.
3) I do most of the chores anyway so it really doesn't matter.
4) I'd volunteer at either a homeless shelter or soup kitchen.
5) Can't even remember the first record/album/tape I bought, we're talking close to 40 years ago. But if I had to say about the first CD, I'd say it was probably a 3 set CD from Dan Fogelberg that cintained Netherlands, Souvenoirs, and Captured Angel.
