6. They are tasty
although they're the food I perhaps feel guiltiest about afterwards, so I try and make consumption a rare occasion. Also I have gallstones and at times I feel stomach pain when digesting greasy stuff.

7. Bleh...

They're way better Down Under. So are the pies.

Just as the Europeans and Americans (and, before them, the Chinese) innovated designs that the Japanese perfected, so did the Brits engineer a couple of culinary items that get better the further you get from Blighty.

9. I had never heard the term "Blighty" until you just said it.
My brit says it is a common word. Are you British?

The pies in Australia were wonderful. That and the cheap wine.

10. Four n' twenty
Edited on Sun Apr-20-08 02:25 AM by bixente
I'm sure there's far better. But in the past I would often indulge in a pie from the milky bar. ;)

I also have fond memories of buying one from the canteen after playing for my local Aussie Rules side. :D

12. Ok, just asked him what four n'twenty means and he is singing some sily song.
I don't really understand anything else your are saying, but after twenty minutes, I am still hearing an explanation of the four n'twenty question.

3. My Anglophile, Dr. Who obsessed 12 year old son....
said to me last week, "From now on, mom, fries will be chips. Period." So far he has kept to his word.

8. Hold on just a minute. Let me ask mine and see which group he is in.
Honey, would you swap sex for a pint and fish & chips?

Honey, sweetheart, Pay attention for just a second. Would you swap sex for a pint and fish & chips?

Answer (literal - I am not making this up): That's the silliest thing I have heard you say today. Do you mean be a female? Do you mean change gender?

That's how literal they are. They must have asked this question when they were hungry and not horny.
