Ok, I think Kitteh killed the PC monitor...Help!

Kitteh likes to use the PC monitor as his jump-launching pad up to the top level of the desk. Recently, the monitor does this thing when he hits it where the screen goes from 100% to about 33%, bunched up at the top. At the moment, it appears to be stuck like that.

So, we were thinking of getting a new monitor, flatscreen, that we can push back under the overhang of the desk, so he won't be able to jump off of it.

We're not looking to spend a ton of $$, but want suggestions on brands, etc.
