1. Yeah. I agree.
I decided that 34 years ago, and nothing since then has made me change my mind.

7. As a guy, I feel obligated to at least TRY to care about it
but it just bores me to tears.

I guess that's what I get for growing up watching ice hockey.

8. Yeah, that's pretty much all I have it on for nowdays
Plus, it's the only sport I know where it takes 1/2 hour to play two minutes of game time. At least with rugby, they don't stop the game when a player gets maimed.

Yeah, I put the avatar up after I started this thread on GD: P. Why vote for a fake Republican when you can vote for the real thing?

9. Why do they call it
Football.
Only one guy can actually kick the ball
And he's usually a burnt-out soccer player from Chechnya or somewhere.

Just wondering

10. I actually got bored and looked that up once on Wikipedia
apparently, something called "football" existed as far back as the middle ages, when it involved the citizens of two villages kicking an inflated pig bladder between them.

Eventually, the games we know variously as football, soccer and rugby evolved from that. The different nature of these games came from different rulesmaking bodies implementing their own rules

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football

(Article is guaranteed to be more interesting than an actual NFL game)

18. Just wondered
When poor David Beckham had to correct himself at a big news conference, and call Football Soccer

The word 'Soccer' derives from Association Football

13. Yeah, the Vikings are sucking today.
I never did get my hopes up that they'd actually win because then I'd be setting myself up for disappointment, just like every other year.

The Vikings just tied the game! :o

Edit: Even if the Vikings do win, it won't matter because Washington is winning against Dallas.

The only reason people get excited about it is because people get excited about it. It's a very cyclical thing.
