An update from Ohio

Yesterday was a bit crazy. LizzieGrace was running around like a crazy person taking care of everyone/everything. :P

I was in horrible, miserable shape after I got of the plane. VenusRising hung out with me all evening while LizzieGrace ran around and waited for RetroPaul at the airport. I was so heavily medicated, and in so much pain I was gray and shaking, and I was dealing with a couple of side effects of meds, and despite that we talked and laughed for hours!

RetroLounge's plane finally came in. He is amazing and flirtatious. Imagine that! :P

I had a wonderful evening, which is an amazing testament to what great people I'm with.

I had to crash at around 12:20 last night because of meds. LizzieGrace, RetroLounge and VenusRising hung out another two hours and continued laughing and giggling.

This morning I'm feeling kind of human again. VenusRising will be back later for the party, so it's me, LizzieGrace and RetroLounge hanging out.

LizzieGrace gave us both union suits as christmas gifts. One piece, fire-engine red, with a butt-flap in the back and buttons from neck to groin in the front. We modeled them this morning. You'll all get to see pictures later.

We will almost certainly end up modeling them again at the pajama party after the party tonight. :P

Today we're doing some shopping and then I'll get to Cook! :woohoo:
(with help, of course.)

I can't thank these awesome, amazing people enough for being so supportive. I often hibernate when I'm in a lot of pain because people get uncomfortable seeing pain. But it didn't phase anyone here. They have ignored by pain without ignoring me. They've been supportive when I needed it, and social all the rest of the time. One of my fears when I am in social situations is that my pain will bring people down or put a damper on the event. That absolutely hasn't happened.

I am so glad that you are among friends today. I almost got in my car last night and started heading west across NY State in the hopes that I could make it to Ohio by this morning to surprise you guys, but alas, the pain in my lower back got the better of me and I medicated myself instead.

LizzieGrace is awesome. She has temporarily turned the front room (her office) into a spare room so that I don't have to climb the stairs. How sweet is that?

I only have to climb them once per day to get to the shower.

I'll definitely hug everyone at least a couple of times. This is a great group for that. :grouphug:

25. We just got back from the grocery store

We're making all appetizes and small dishes. Based on what looked good and fresh we're making,

Bruchetta
Mandarin chicken
Baked wedges of potato with different toppings
Dill pasta salad
Spinach salad

Other people are bringing (as yet unknown) dishes. So it's going to be a "have a little bit of everything" party. :)

Today is LizzieGrace's day to be in pain and not feeling well. :(

So she's resting. VenusRising is here now so the two of us can tag-team the cooking.

I've already got as much done as I can manage alone. But that's quite a bit of prep work out of the way.

This is a group that understands having a good time despite stuff that gets in the way, so afer LizzieGrace is done resting the mirth and merryment will continue. :)

50. You are awesome - and so are they! I give you tons of credit for making the trip

even though you knew there would be pain and discomfort involved. The memories
you're making are worth so much, they far outweigh the other side of the balance sheet,
but it takes guts to go ahead and do it, nonetheless.

And they are wonderful for - as you so beautifully said - ignoring the pain but not ignoring you.
Not easy to do, either!
