Question about clevage, why do women show cleavage, when they are not comfortable doing so?
I know two totally different women who where clothes that show cleavage. They differ in size, shape and age. Yet, both feel very uncomfortable with these particular clothes. They constantly adjust their clothes to get it.."right"..
..I do not know much about women's clothes, but I ask. If it makes them feel that uncomfortable showing themselves with this "look" then why wear them? All I can do is pose the question. I will wait for an answer. thank you..this is not some kind of a joke..I really would like to know...Stuart.

kinda like Homer Simpson and doughnuts or pork chops. It just depends on who is doing the staring.

34. a clever aside... thanks to bill engvall
on his last album 15 degree off off cool, bill sums breasts like this:

"women have or should have all the power because of breasts. only breasts can make a 6 month old and a 65 year old man behave the exact same way."

And whether it's sexy or too sexy can change in a minute.

9. What do you mean by 'getting it right', The fit or the look?
If it's 'the fit', maybe they ran out of clothes for the week.

If it's for 'the look', I cannot tell you, but maybe they just don't want you looking at them that way :D

13. Sometimes I honestly think it's passive/agressive behavior.
They want to show them off so that when someone actually looks, they can get all pissy and offended. Weird.

I don't have any real cleavage but I do have a nice um, caboose. And if I put on a super-tight pair of jeans, you damn well better believe I expect people to look twice. And I'd be silly to get upset about it!

Why does society encourage women to show off their cleavage, and then judge them with distain when they do so?

..."Why are women dumb enough to submit to societal pressure to do things considered "sexy" and/or "attractive," when they feel it's wrong for them?

21. Adjusting their clothes doesn't mean they are uncomfortable with their cleavage.
It could mean that they realized they wore the wrong bra and it's showing or something slipped out of place or what-have-you.

22. I don't know , probably the same reason for showing the lower back

Breast Obsessed? You probably cant help it

According to a study of 270 male and female college students, the first impression of a woman with large boobs is that she is stupid, incompetent, immoral and immodest.

No one has studied the second impression.

...

Another source believes that men love boobs because boobs resemble buttocks. In the jungle a female primate in heat displays her ass to indicate that she’s ready for sex. The article surmises that once women began walking upright, breasts developed as a way for them to arouse bootylicious thoughts without bending over. Cave babes could now catch a male’s eye coming or going. The problem with this hypothesis is that men in many cultures aren’t obsessed with breasts

24. women's clothing sucks
especially if you're not a small woman.

honestly, I hate turtle necks and crew necks.

But I'm big busted, and that means my cleavage starts pretty high on my chest.

I'm supposed to look good in an empire waisted shirt, but if I pull the shirt down so the seam is below the breasts (where it belongs) the shirt becomes no longer suitable for work because of the cleavage that shows.

Women's clothes designers have NO CLUE when it comes to the way to dress a woman.

fucking uncomfortable. I love it when I don't have to wear a bra. If I could fix it where it would not be obviously noticeable I would never wear one.

40. On a more serious note...
My biggest weakness when it comes to women are their eyes, I see beautiful eyes, and I end up as putty in their hands. So I have a habit of actually LOOKING at a woman's eyes when I speak to them, for me, this has the same affect as if I were looking at their breasts instead.

I'm also more of an ass and leg man as well. ;)

38. My view (looking down) is different than your view from across the room.
I have a wrap style dress that is pretty nice, but it can shift just a bit which could let the top of my bra show. Usually, if I look in a mirror it isn't really showing--but it sure looks like it from my vantage point.

Maybe that is what you are noticing with these women--I dunno.

I rarely wear anything suggestive to work anyhow. Most of the time it is jeans and tops to go out in the field or else "hearing" attire which has to be pretty conservative business attire. I think the last time I showed any leg or cleavage was Halloween when I was a witch.

41. How do you *know* that these women are "not comfortable" in these revealing tops?
Edited on Sat Dec-29-07 02:22 AM by quantessd
Have they told you so?
Or, have you reached this conclusion solely because you see them always adjusting their clothes?

As a woman, I'm also wondering what's going on, and I'm wondering how much eye contact you are giving, when you take breaks from gawking at their boobs.

Edit: it may read like I'm accusing you of being a boob-fixator, but that's not necessarily what I meant. I'm also wondering whether some women, as you are saying, really do act preoccupied with fixing their cleavage when men are around. I have not noticed this, but maybe that's because women just don't do it around other women. Or maybe you do stare at boobs a little too much? It's inconclusive.
