I figured out why the beagle has been gaining weight.
I just watched Leo, my cat and the beagle's bestest buddy, drop pieces of his cat food off the counter where the cats eat (to keep the beagle from getting any) onto the floor, practically into the mouth of the waiting beagle.

So, Leo goes on scheduled feedings and gets less food!! The little conspirators!!

2. OH man, that is awesome!
in the ironic sense.

The beagle has the cats TRAINED!

7. Leo LOVES the beagle. Sometimes he just sits next to her,
gazing lovingly at her. Trust me, the other two cats would NEVER give the beagle THEIR food!

3. Leo will now blame the beagle.
Why disrupt harmony over kitty tidbits?

5. Ummm...because eating cat food is bad for a beagle's
liver and kidneys, maybe?

If Leo wants to grow old with the beagle, this wouldn't be the way to achieve that.

16. Eating cat food probably won't hurt the beagle if she doesn't eat it all the time.
It does tend to be fattening, though.

17. Yes, but if she had her way she WOULD be eating it all the time!
And apparently, she has an enabler.

10. They are almost the same size.
They are buddies, looking out for each other. I think it is sweet.

11. It's sweet. Until the beagle goes into kidney failure,
or has a stroke because she's becoming obese. Beagles just don't understand that eating everything isn't a good idea!!

15. Beagle: She's starving me!! She's only feeding me
what it says to on the bag!! It's downright abusive I tell ya!

Leo: Hey, I know... I almost never finish my food. Want some?

Beagle: Want some?! It's food!! Of course I want some!!
