Update on my dog Kinsey.

There was nothing in Kinsey's foot at all. Her problem was in her shoulder.

The vet noticed immediately that her shoulder was swollen and tender. She thought it had to be a hairline fracture or a very bad sprain. She sedated Kinsey and did an x-ray. There is no fracture.

Either she bumped herself badly or fell and went spread-eagle on the ice.

My husband said Kinsey slipped went spread-eagle with her front legs a couple of days ago. They went down the hill together to the mailbox and she fell on the ice. We had a bad ice storm here.

The vet gave her an injection of pain medication for today. She gave me a bottle of the medication to give to Kinsey for the next 4-5 days. She should start to improve then. Kinsey will not be going for her run on the nature trail for a few days.

I am relieved that it was nothing more serious. Kinsey is sleeping off the effects of her exciting afternoon right now. For some reason, this silly dog loves to go to the vet.
