My 9 y/o has informed me that the there is a mob presence in our town,
and that he and another friend identified tracks specific to the type of snowmobiles operated by our local arm of "the mob." He is dead serious. I think he's mad at me, because I laughed at him. A lot.

I heard a rumor recently that the best Italian restaurant around here is owned by a member of the mob. Go figure. Damn good food, though. :9

7. When I was in high school, a whole chain of pizza places
in the area were raided for housing "criminal enterprises". One of the pizza places is still operating in the town where I now serve. People often point out that they've never had pizza from it, and don't know anyone who has. Yet, it's been in business for like 50 years.

11. Everytime I go to order pizza, I think about it.
I've even considered just stopping in. No one seems to know if they even have a dining room. Only one way to find out!!

If someone shows up with a pizza in one hand and a violin case in the other, then you'll know for sure it's a "family" business, in the Sicilian sense. Especially if you can hear Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" coming from their delivery vehicle

I know a few people with that last name, in town! I will have to surveil their residences for snowmobiles!

12. hmmm. Ask him to tell you the details before dismissing it.
It may be that he is calling something else "the mob." If it's just made-up after all, no harm done.
