I DVR'd it and finally watched the first episode and about half the second...

I like the actress playing DG- she seems pretty good for the role.

I think the story is an interesting take on the Wizard of OZ (or, the O.Z.) - I think I read the book ages ago, but I have no memory of how close the original 1939 movie stuck to the book, other than thinking the book was darker. But, that could just be bad memories, too, as I'm old and probably read the book in elementary school.

I like the guy playing the Tin Man as well, and the woman playing the evil sorceress Azkadelia is hot - I mean, how many other women have monkeys that fly out of their cleavage?

I don't want to say too much about the story so far, in case others have not seen it.

5. Answer to possible spoiler
Yeah, I felt the same way. It's like the writer's strike started when they were writing the third episode.

16. I didn't think the ending sucked (spoilers)
Wasn't great, and sure, it was a little hokey with Azkadellia reaching out her hand to DG. But, one of the essential pieces of modern fantasy is the epic "save the world" ending, so I didn't really mind.

7. I couldn't get past the terrible acting of the woman playing DG.
It was the worst I've ever seen. I only made it through about half of the first episode. Maybe I'll give it another try if it comes back, because I was really looking forward to it, and it looked like it had some promise otherwise. I just wish they'd cast someone else for that part.

8. She had moments
but I'll have to agree that she was pretty wooden...moved like the tin man in the original movie...during most of it.

10. I thought the actress
Playing the evil sorceress Azkadellia was a lousy actress - but, she was hot and could make monkeys fly out of her boobs, so I didn't care.

14. Why can't that be "business casual" at my office?
probably because I'd never get any work done.

15. I thought so too
I liked how they took the original story & twisted it around, though. However, it did seem that in most scenes, Zooey was reading her lines off of cue cards.
