Any WoW players here?
My son plays. He stopped playing for a while so I deleted all the files from our computer. Now he wants to get back in to it and I can't find the dang disk. He upgraded to Burning Crusade, and I downloaded that from the account management section, but it's asking me to install the original WoW before installing BC.

Am I going to have the buy the disk AGAIN?

Thanks.

1. Yup
That's how Blizzard screws it's customers so you can't use virtual disks and forces you to pay, pay, pay.

Now if he had played Guild Wars like I and the 40+ members of my guild, the client downloads from NCSoft and it's free play like Diablo II is. No messy pay for play.

Good luck in your quest

2. Thanks
I was afraid that would be the case.

I've found where to download the free trial client, which it says is the FULL version of the game as well. I'm sure it will ask for some sort of activation code, which is with the LOST disk. So, I'm still in the same boat. Ugh.

3. Blizzard thanks you for adding to their nearly ONE BILLION dollar a year revenue stream from WOW
I cannot fathom that kind of money pouring into their coffers via ONE game.

Good luck!!

6. Yes, I got bored with it after a few minutes, but typically these things
are userid/password controlled. Of course, I could be wrong. Of course, you could email them and ask for help.

7. I hope you're right
I asked my son, and he said we downloaded the original game from the website too. It's been so long ago I couldn't remember. I wonder why it would let me redownload the upgrade/expansion, but not the original game?

The "trial" download is 3 gigs, so I'm going to do that tonight.

8. Blizzard reps treat EVERYONE like they are 7 , be afraid.
I've received PHONE CALLS from NCSoft when we discovered bugs or exploits in Guild Wars, or complained about obscene monikers (it is truly a family game, we have Guild members whose entire family plays) and many many seniors (as myself) people love this game.

May Vivaldi Entertainment/Blizzard explode from flatulence some day.
