We have two, and they're both slightly bent, so they won't work.

Dammit. :banghead:

crap I'm such a dumbass....

Christmas tree stand not hunting stand.

I got caught up in the "hunting" trend that has infected the place.

6. LL Bean
Yeah, I know they're a "red" company, but they sold me one a couple of years ago that was about 30 lbs of cast iron. I left it behind when I moved, alas. Otherwise you could have it. I haven't done Christmas in years.

7. A friend of mine took a regular tree stand
Edited on Tue Nov-27-07 10:55 PM by Contrary1
and nailed it to a 24"x24" piece of 1" thick plywood. It works great, and her pets can't knock it over.

8. The issue is getting the goddamned tree to stand up
The screws are wumpus, so the tree falls over. :banghead:

12. I've had to wedge the tree in with wooden blocks before
Push the blocks down into the stand on either side. That worked.

9. We bought a large cast iron one about ten years ago
from a Christmas outlet for $10. I think they were selling overstock and items from retail stores that didn't sell the previous year. It's been a great stand.

18. This is a great stand!

The cup thing on top comes out of the stand. You attach it to the tree, then put the cup into the base. There is a small lever (on the other side of the stand in the picture) that you can step on which allows the whole top of the stand to swivel until your tree is straight. Great design - has held up nicely for 3 or 4 years now.

And it's from a Craig's list ad - only $8! http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/for/485371773.html
