Poll question: Xmas Trees: What's your favorite?
Regardless of people's feelings about xmas, I don't know anyone who can resist the allure of a lit and decorated tree. Define "lit" and "decorated" any way you want.

When I was little, my brother and I made an all day trek out into the woods to find the perfect cedar tree. We looked for a squat bushy one, like Santa's belly to chop down and take back to the house. :9 If it took up 1/2 the living room, even better. :D Great shape, great smell that lasted and lasted all through the winter, (mostly because of the needles left behind, no matter how much you swept, but I digress)

The last 10 years being on my own, I've preferred artificial trees because, well they're easier and less costly and you don't have to kill a tree every year. S

So I need to replace mine this year. The array of stuff is stagering: Natural looking trees, natural looking w/ "snow," Totally fake (white, red, blue?!?!), and then there's the contempo abstract art trees that are merely suggestive of a tree shape.

What do you suggest?

2. I like real trees.
Good looking artificial ones aren't cheap and they take up storage space the rest of the year, but I think if you're using a fake tree anyway go with the one that makes you happy. That may be arty, or white or red or retro fake tinsel with a color wheel.

I wouldn't choose a live one unless I had a spot to plant it after Christmas. Most live trees don't do well if they've been indoors for a long time and then planted in the chill of winter.

3. Oh I love real trees too
I love the smell and the look of them. A tree in the house, especially a cedar tree is probably my most favorite witntertime smell.

I would have a real tree if I were a couple at least, rather than a single, but since I have to rely on my own steam to work with it and move it into place, plus light and decorate it, it's artificial for me.

7. allergic to real trees. plus the cats eat the tinsel and barf it up for
days. I won't put tinsel on a fake tree but if I have a live tree it MUST have tinsel, how weird is that?

anyway, we are on year 8 or 9 for this tree.
