For reasons I can't quite put into words, this video makes me giddily happy.

1. How I love them
I will :kick: that without even watchin' the vid.

I'm seeing them Tuesday! And that makes me thrilled beyond belief. ;)

3. Bah! I rage with envy.
They're coming fairly close to me soon (Nov. 12 in St. Petersburg), but not close enough.

Still never seen them live. They're definitely on my list of Bands I Must See Before (I die/They die/They breakup/etc.)

6. Look, newbie, I've had enough of this. And tell Barbie the same goes for her.
Lemme see, what do I care about more than your opinions on my musical selection? Uhh... Low-carb diets. Michael Moore. The Republican National Convention. Kabbalah and all Kabbalah-related products. Hi-def TV, the Bush daughters, wireless hot spots, 'The O.C.', the U.N., recycling, getting Punk'd, Danny Gans, the Latin Grammys, the real Grammys. Jeff, that Wiggle who sleeps too darn much! The Yankees payroll, all the red states, all the blue states, every hybrid car, every talk show host! Everything on the planet, everything in the solar system, everything everything everything everything everything everything - eve - everything that exists - past, present and future, in all discovered and undiscovered dimensions. Oh! And Hugh Jackman.

8. Could it perhaps have something to do with the happy happy joy joy images and happy melody?
Balloons, smiling people all jumping around with glee...

I think it's sort of been put together with that whole 'make the listener happy' angle. :)

9. Yeah, you could be right about that.
;)

I love the Spree. I, mean, how the hell do they maintain those goofy grins through a whole show. It's like they actually enjoy what they're doing or something.

11. Hah yes... imagine that.
Do you like Belle & Sebastian? I'm not much for the Spree... but I do seem to have developed a fondness for B&S. :)

12. Their pre-Fold Your Hands Child stuff is amazing...
I think they lost something when Stuart David left, and weakened further after Isobel Campbell's departure. But those first three albums are unbelievable.

16. I dunno, I think B&S is getting better and better
For me (and I'm about to commit blasphemy here) Tigermilk is their weakest album

18. Blasphemy!!
I'll give you this much -- their last album, Life Pursuit, is their best since Boy With the Arab Strap.

24. Hell, I don't think there's a bad B&S album
Life Pursuit is amazing

Have you heard the Hollywood Bowl show? That one is downright classic! I hope the get around to releasing it sometime. They had the LA Philharmonic backing them during the show. Nothing like "Don't Leave The Light On Baby" with full orchestration....

20. heh. i held a french horn in junior high band
i say held because i couldn't play the damn thing to save my life. the band director actually made a deal with me wherein i could go on a band trip and miss school for a couple of days if i agreed not to physically blow in to the instrument.

it's got a beautiful sound that i was utterly incapable of making.

23. It's a unifying visual image, that's all.
The idea was to all wear the same thing instead of wearing whatever clothes they felt like. Not unlike the Beatles all wearing matching clothes in the early days.

You'll notice that these days, they're wearing black military-type uniforms instead.
