Good grief, Charlie Brown! TONIGHT !!!
AMERICAN MASTERS 9 pm/ET PBS New
Good grief, Charlie Brown! This profile of Charles M. Schulz (1922-2000) reveals that the Peanuts creator wasn't like his popular characters, though many aspects of his life and personality did sneak into the beloved comic strip — the Lucy-Schroeder relationship, for example, was inspired by his first marriage, and there was a very real "little red-headed girl." The bio features insights from his widow, Jeannie, his children and biographer David Michaelis (Schulz and Peanuts), as well as excerpts from the classic Peanuts TV specials and comic strips. — Jeff Gemmill

"Charlie Brown is the sort of nice little kid that I would have liked to have had as a neighbor when I was small, because he and I like the same things. And he's a decent kid. All he wants to do is to be left alone and play ball and fly his kite, and things like that." CMS
