What goes with a "greek salad"?
We were invited to a "progressive dinner party" this coming weekend. It's not a bunch of liberals, it's where everybody starts off in one location, then goes to various homes for dinner and then comes back to the one location afterwards.

But, the hostess of the home we're going to called last night and said that the person that is making a salad is making a "Greek salad" and if we brought a side dish, it could be something that goes with that.

But, I have no clue about these sorts of things. What would "go" with a greek salad?

3. Well, it depends on how fancy you want to get
If you want to go all out, make spanakopita--there are recipes all over the Internet. But spanakopita is hard work.

You could do some nice meatballs in a Greek tomato sauce. The cheat way to do this is to use frozen meatballs in Ragu and add a tiny bit of cinnamon and oregano to the sauce. Just heat in a crock pot for a couple of hours and you're ready to go.

Or you could just pick up a nice artisan bread and some butter.

6. thanks for the ideas
since we don't have a lot of free time, we'll likely have to go with the meatballs, or even the artisan bread & butter.

4. White wine, and just buy some dolmas (stuffed marinated grape leaves)
there are some nice dry Greek whites. You can find the grape leaves in a good delicatessen.

Moussaka would be another choice.

8. Dolmas
The little appetizers of rice and chickpea mix wrapped in grape leaves then marinated in olive oil and lemon juice.
