Exactly a week ago today, I received a once-in-a-lifetime gift. A trip to New York City. The company was terrific, the food amazing and I got to see a city I've wanted to see since I was a little girl. :)

This week, Lelapin was asked by a professor to consider illustrating a book the prof is writing. Her first illustration credit. :)

4. this week my oldest son

finally passed his eagle board of review of boy scouts. i have been hounding him to get his papers signed, and get them into the council office. tuesday night he had his meeting with the board and passed!

6. Flying up to NJ tomorrow

To go to the Jets-Eagles game with my dad and brothers. It's an annual tradition and sometimes the only chance I get to see them each year.

7. I recently got to meet and hang out with one of my favorite DUers!

I have a lot of great DUers living nearby.

One of my co-workers took me out and treated me to really good Indian food for lunch today, just because he wanted to hang out with me and get out of the office for an hour. How cool is that?

And then another co-worker took me out and treated me to coffee at Starbucks just because we do similar work and she wanted to hang out and comisserate.

It's nice to be surrounded by good people and to feel liked and appreciated. :)

My son will be a senior in college a semester early. My daughter has survived her first couple of months of college.

The weather is glorious here today, and I went for a lunchtime ride with one of my best friends.

Al Gore won the Nobel Prize.

I guess, all in all, it's been a pretty good day.

44. I finished off a totally amazing scarf. It turned out far better than I thought.

Unfortunately, it is not for me. It's for my Aunt. But I'm knitting myself a multicolor (blue, gold, purple) multiwidth yarn scarf in a rib stitch which is kind of fun. Unfortunately I don't know how to load pics so you'll have to trust that the scarf I made was most awesome.

at the church he goes to... his mother was there. We got along okay and our son had a blast.

Roasted weanies, marshmallows, and made sum' mores, which he didn't like at all
